Massachusetts and New Hampshire Residential High-Efficiency Heating Equipment Rebate Program

Heating equipment is typically the largest energy user in the home. If a natural gas furnace or boiler is more than 20 years old, it is probably running very inefficiently compared to today's models. One way to help offset the rising cost of energy and significantly reduce heating costs is to replace an old furnace or boiler with new high-efficiency heating equipment. In fact, a new furnace or boiler can save up to 30% of your heating energy use.

Rebates up to $1500 are available for heating equipment that meets or exceeds the following Annual Fuel Usage Efficiency (AFUE) ratings:

Furnace (equipped with an ECM motor or equivalent) 97% or greater $450
Furnace (equipped with an ECM motor or equivalent) 95% or greater $300
Boiler (Forced Hot Water System) 95% or greater $1,500
Boiler (Forced Hot Water System) 90% or greater $1,000
Condensing Boiler with On-Demand DHW 90% or greater $1,200
Heat Recovery Ventilator   $500
After-Market Boiler Reset Controls*   $225

For ECM eligible equipment click here. Select Qualifying Furnaces. If CEE Air Handling (column B) equals "yes" then the furnace qualifies for GasNetworks rebates.

* Rebates restricted to residential customers of participating GasNetworks utilities.

** Projects greater than 10 units require pre-approval from GasNetworks for rebate funds to be reserved. Pre-approval can be obtained by contacting gasnetworks@smartenergy-zone.com

A list of qualifying heating equipment can be found on the ENERGY STAR Products webpage. All GasNetworks rebate eligible equipment must meet efficiency standards noted on the GasNetworks rebate applications.
